Alto Golf Description

The Alto Golf Course is a 18 hole course located close to the fishing village of Alvor near to Portimao. This course is situated close enough to the ocean to give the player an occasional sea view. A simple par 3 opens your round but it is deceiving to what is in store. The Alto Golf Course is considered a good test of the ability of the player with strategic bunkers, dog-legs, elevated greens and well placed trees. A further noteworthy challenge is the par 5 on the sixteenth that is considered to be one of the longest holes in Europe.

Love Alto - groundskeepers always busy improving this course all the time. Beautifully maintained and fairways and greens very good. Buggy master always very helpful as are the staff at reception. All very positive xx

Very impressed by Alto. Probably the best of the Pestana group courses in Cavoeiro area. I have not played it for 30 years. It has changed a lot! The only thing that let it down was the pace of play, nearly 5hrs and 30 minutes and we were playing as a 2 ball!
