The Ocean Golf Course in Vale do Lobo is a sister course to the Royal. The name of this course is appropriately suggesting is enviable location. As an older golf course it had a strong influence in placing the Algarve as a destination in the golfing world. The fairways have a tendency to be narrow and accuracy is imperative when playing. The Ocean Golf Course holes wander through pine trees with wonderful views of the sea between the homes lining the sides of the fairways. Some of the holes take you along the cliff top with the blue Atlantic sea as the backdrop.

One of the most scenic courses in the world. Facilities and staff were 1st class. The course was in excellent condition and beautifully maintained. The only issue was the weather, because of the excessive winds throughout the round(25-30mph), it made golfing a real struggle. We tried to cancel the day before knowing what the winds would be like but were told we'd forfeit our fees. Might want to consider that for the future. Still glad we played even though the golf was a struggle. We were joined by a single digit golfer from Germany and he'd never experienced that kind of wind during any previous round he'd played.

Good conditions, course is very quirky with many blind shots. Course of this calibre needs full practice facilities

My wife and I played at the VDL Ocean course three times during our stay in Algarve. We also player at the VDL Royal course once. We like Ocean course much better between the 2 VDL courses. The overall course condition was excellent, and staff were very kind. Most impressive moments were several ocean view holes and amazing sunset view when we played in the afternoon. I would strongly recommend Ocean course to any golfers visiting Algarve central area,
